Commissioned by curator Oz Zloof to come up with a concept for a menorah for Hannukah at Tel Aviv's historic Bialik Square (actually a circle), and given the fact that any use of candles or fire was out of the question because this was an event for families with small kids, on his suggestion I chose to use thin colorful sticklights, which by divine intervention were the exact length and width to fit in the spacings between the stone pavement. Given the fact that the standard candles for this holiday in israel are very similar in color and shape, this was an additional element which made the piece work so well.
