As part of the renovation of the Rose Garden in the Talbiya neighborhood of Jerusalem, I was invited to prepare a signage system, which included content signs. The garden is steeped in a rich history, which dates back to the Ottoman period. There are photographs taken from different periods from different viewpoints throughout the garden. For example, the Independence Day reception with Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion in 1947. So instead of placing large signs with a lot of text and pictures, I decided to utilize existing technology that I came across on Facebook, and scatter small signs with QR codes throughout the garden, which, when scanned with a mobile phone, reveal an interactive, panoramic image taken from the same spot in the past, allowing the visitor to move the phone and peek through a "virtual window" at the same place, 50, 60, and 70 years ago.
